Formerly a subsidiary of the Phipps Group, West Quay Cars has been
independently owned since July 2003; substantial investment in technology,
vehicles, the recruitment of staff and drivers has enabled the company
to outgrow its’ former parent.
The Directors and senior managers have a wealth of experience within
the Taxi and Private Hire industry and they have a simple goal:
to provide a value for money quality service, delivered with a professional
attitude and an innovative approach.
This may explain why West Quay Cars are the only Taxi & Private
Hire Company in Southampton to operate flat rate fares 24 hours
a day, 7 days a week – why should you pay more after 11pm
or on Sundays & Bank Holidays? Fixed or set rate fares are available
for certain journeys and destinations, services operate to all UK
air and sea ports 365 days a year.
Our fleet of cars is unmistakable to say the least, not the most
subtle corporate branding, but very effective indeed. The majority
of our vehicles are Nissans, together with Peugeot, Ford and Volkswagen
offering comfort, safety and reliability for every journey. All
vehicles are inspected on a regular basis and are replaced when
they reach 7 years old.
The latest and most recent addition to our fleet are the VW Shuttle
8 seaters – the ultimate in people moving – 7 passengers
in comfort and style with more than enough luggage space for ‘World
Cruise’ luggage. These VW Shuttles are yet another first for
West Quay Cars and Southampton, again leaving our competition trailing
behind.
Last year the company invested in cutting edge technology upgrading
the existing data dispatch system, incorporating technological developments
such as global positioning, internet booking for corporate customers,
caller identification and call-back facilities. It may come as no
surprise that West Quay Cars were first with that one too!
Some would say that we have achieved a great deal in such a short
time, we would argue that there’s still a long way to go to
bring our customers the service they deserve.
